Gavin: 10 Months

My sweet, sweet little boy will turn 10 months old tomorrow! This month has been super busy and Gavin is keeping us on our toes with lots of new tricks. As I posted previously, he started crawling right at about 9 months. He was slow starting out and refused to be mobile anywhere other than on the carpet. He would literally stop and cry when he reached the tile. He quickly got over that in a couple of days and is now not only super duper fast, but will crawl anywhere, on anything. I forgot how fast these crawlers can be! The cutest thing about this stage is when he moves from the crawling position into the sitting position. I don't know what it is about that achievement but it makes him seem like such a big boy. It's especially cute to get him out of bed and see him sitting or holding onto the side of his bed. But Gavin hasn't stopped there. In the past couple of days he's started to pull himself up into standing position. Last night we lowered his crib all the way down and we've had to put the big baby gate back up, much to Blane's dismay!

Gavin is SUCH a good baby! He still doesn't really fuss or cry unless he's tired, or hungry. He's really content to play with his toys, with Blane, with the pups, or with the trash (yes, he's playing in the trash right now - just mail though, not food!) He goes right to sleep when I lay him down, and is babbling up a storm. He's very curious about the world around him and is having such fun exploring so many new things. My big boy is wearing 12 months clothes, size 4 diapers, and is eating really well. I still nurse him between 1 and 4 times a day (depending on his mood), eats baby food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with lots of finger foods dispersed throughout the day. It's so easy now to be out running errands and be able to give him whatever snack Blane has. Yea for convenience! Gavin is still pretty serious, but gives big smiles when appropriate and is generally very proud of his many accomplishments.

My little guy has brought a new element of fun and adventure to our lives! He is such a blessing and I can't believe that this time last year he was still in my belly!
