Easter Advent - Day 5

Crown of thorns - we talked through the horrific torture that Jesus endured at he hands of his accusers. Our crown of thorns replica turned out better than I expected- Blane was appalled that something so "prickly"(toothpicks) would have been put on Jesus' head! As we kneaded the dough for our crown we discussed His willingness to suffer and that He went to the cross specifically for Blane, for Gavin, for Jen.... for each and every sin that we have already committed and for every sin that we will commit. I want them to understand how personal the cross is- its not sin in general that separated us but it is jens sin, Blane's sin...He loved Blane and gave himself for Blane, and Gavin, and and and...The cross is personal and His suffering was personal. The record of Jen and Blane and Gavin and scott and Ashley's (and all who believe) sin is blotted out in His suffering and death; that brings great hope.
