This little guy is changing every single day! He is a super happy, and very vocal baby, who knows what he wants! He talks up a storm and his new favorite thing is to point to every item in the room and seem to ask what it is. Or, he'll name unknown item, "Ga!" He loves to stand at the back door and bang and cry until he gets to go out. He also knows to sit under his swing while pointing up and yelling - this means he wants to swing! His favorite breakfast food is a homemade smoothie and he has been known fuss until I make him one : ) You can tell how much Gavin adores his older brother by the way he lights up around him! Gavin loves to turn on my cell phone to see the picture of he and Blane together! They love to chase each other around the house, play tackle, and try to outmatch the other's yells. Gavin is still a picky eater and will typically only eat smoothies, waffles, peanut butter sandwiches, or chicken nuggets. We finished nursing only a few weeks ago. Luckily, it happened pretty naturally, and right before my trip to San Diego. I loved nursing this sweet little baby, and it's been a little sad to have come to an end. Gavin loves books and will sit alone in his closet and sort through stacks of baby books while pointing, "Ga!" at every page. He also enjoys putting his toys away or filling any container with his toys. He is really good at passing the ball back and forth - so we play that game a lot! He loves to put on our shoes - in fact he knows what to do with lots of objects by seeing how we use them. But it's not uncommon to find him trying to put on my shoes, even my heels! He loves to wave, especially "By Bye". He also loves to clap for himself. When he knows that he's done something the correct way, he'll smile and start clapping for himself! For example, this morning on our walk, he picked his cup out of the holder. Normally he would throw the cup out of the stroller when he is done drinking, so I said, "Gavin, set the cup down nicely in the holder." When he was done drinking he DID set it back correctly - and this clapped for himself and how good he did. So cute!!! Then of course he had to practice his accomplishment over and over on the way home. Pick up cup, drink, put cup back correctly, clap.....Gavin is all boy and especially likes to play with cars. He will push his cars all around the house and say, "vroom! vroom!" He also can say Blane, Ball, and Car. Lately he has been standing on his own, and even getting into standing position without holding onto anything. The day before my trip he took one or two steps on his own! It's not going to be long before he's running after his big brother! As much as Gavin is becoming a big boy, he is still my little baby. He is definitely a mamma's boy, and would rather be with me than anyone else. I love that : )
This is a trademark G picture. If there is a blanket on the floor, you can bed that he is cuddled up in or next to it
