This week we studied the Sun and rested in the truth that Jesus is the Light of the world. The boys memorized John 8:12 within the first day and we sang this scripture over and over this week! We had so much fun studying shadows and heat and "s" sounds and so much more. Both boys continue to impress me every day with their excitement to learn and they are quickly grasping each new concept. To my delight the boys loved the poem, "My Shadow" by Robert Louis Stevenson and they would ask for me to read it again and again. I so thoroughly enjoy my special time doing school with the boys. They are adventurous and funny and eager to learn and proud of their accomplishments. I think they are blessing me more than I am teaching them : )

Our favorite activity this week was constructing a sundial. Can I tell you how impressed the boys were when they noticed the shadow moving each hour? It was really, really fun and a good introduction to keeping time.

We are very slowly beginning sight words with the
PrePrimer Dolche list. Blane enjoys seeing "his words" as we read books -so I'm incorporating sight word games into our slow curriculum days. Gavin enjoys hopscotch with the letters in his name and it has helped him to identify his letters and "hop" on them in the correct order : )
