Reading & Writing!

My sweet Blane is not so little anymore as evidenced by his newfound reading skills. Last week he began sounding out words with ease- words such as nest, dog, cat, tall, bird, egg, and the like. This week he's thinking up words in his head and translating them into writing. Today I mentioned that it was room rest time and e proceeded to write the word "rest" on his little whiteboard. As you can imagine, he's pretty proud of his accomplishments! I'm sensing that spelling out words like "ice cream" in conversation with Scott in an attempt to hide words from the kids is quickly coming to an end!
