Little Baby is growing into a vibrant, exuberant, and vivacious toddler! He is spunky and always on a mission. My precious baby boy brings a new sense of fun and joy to our house!
Gavin knows exactly what he wants and is easily frustrated when he can't communicate his desires to me. However, his vocabulary is increasing - he can say ball, duck, puppy dog, mommy, daddy, Blane, Poppop, car, truck, bye bye, bumbo, belly button, cracker, balloon, and one of my friends is convinced that he can say motorcycle. He can find his head, ear, belly button, and we are working on nose. He loves to blow kisses, and wave. Little Gavin is going to give Blane a run for his money - he loves to tackle and will often initiate rough play with his big brother!
This month three more teeth have arrived (top two middle, and one on the side) and we have several more one their way. Gavin has also started walking, selectively. Sometimes I will see him on the video monitor walking around the edge of his crib. Around and around he goes. Everyday he seems more interested in walking on his own, without being prompted; and Gavin is SO proud of himself when he is successful!
Gavin picks up and imitates many things. He loves to watch Blane sing "My God is SO Big" and he can practically to all the correct hand motions at the appropriate times! Gavin adores Blane and it's so special to see the ways they love each other. They are starting to play like friends, especially tackle! I wish you could hear how loud the breakfast table gets between the two!
This child is still super picky when it comes to food. It's hit or miss with him, but some staples are pb and honey sandwich, frozen waffle, banana, cheese crackers, chicken nuggets, corn on the cob, cubed cheese - and yeah, that's pretty much it!
Over the past two weeks we have worked on cutting out morning nap time. Gavin is usually up by 7 AM, down for a nap from 12-2, and down for bedtime at 6:30 or 7PM.
I'm so grateful for the big blessings and joys that Gavin brings to our family. He is determined and spunky, and he may challenge us in big ways! I love you my sweet little baby boy!

Pointing out something to me, I think it was a "quack quack" which is how he identifies ducks!
