Well, it has finally happened! Blane is starting to crawl! He can get up on all fours and move just a little, but what he has mastered is the army crawl or scoot. If he sees something that he wants, he will scoot all the way across the entire room to get it. So funny!!! I was able to capture just a little on video..he's very camera shy!
On another note: Blane's Menu - Several of my friends have asked me about Blane's menu these days. He's still eating the food that I puree for him at home, but we have incorporated lots of other things as well. My goal is to have him on all table food by the time that we go to the lake in August, which will put him right at 9 months. I can't imagine lugging all my bags of homemade food to Arkansas! My other issue is that at 7 months, he's about to eat me out of house and home. At a typical meal he will eat at least 5-6 frozen cubes of food, and still be up for eating more! So keeping up with the demand is getting demanding! That's 12 ice cubes worth of food a day! Anyway, here is an example our menu options. Breakfast is all table food!
Breakfast Options:
Banana- cut up into small pieces
Applesauce- organic, cinnamon flavored
Grits - I usually just microwave the instant kind and add cheese
Yogurt - baby or regular, just whatever we have on hand
Cheese- the block cheese cut up into small pieces
Fruit cup- the ones next to the applesauce at the store...no sugar added or natural
Cottage Cheese- the full fat kind
Oatmeal- The old fashioned kind or the instant kind, he loves both
Lunch Options: We're still doing pureed food for the most part except for
Spagettio's
Avocado- mashed with fork
Cheese cubes
Dinner Options: Still pureed
Same as lunch above
Snack options:
Yogurt
Applesauce
Ritz
Graham crackers
Cheerios
Fruit cup
His favorite purees that I have made:
lasagna
beef hash
baby muesli with fruit
mixed veggies, organic
sieved berry juice
**So as you can see, breakfast is easy! Let me know if anyone else has some great table food lunch and dinner ideas!!!
