Gavin: 11 Months

11 Months means almost ONE! Whoa! In some ways it seems this little guy has been in our lives forever, and other times I feel like he should still be the itty bitty baby that he once was. This boy is sensitive and stubborn, but oh so loving and sweet! This month marks the beginning of real talking! He said his first word this week, "Bye-Bye" which really sounds more like Ba-Ba. Of course, he has the hand motions to go with it! This little man is all boy! He loves dirt, worms, cars (he pushes them around on the floor while making engine sounds) and everything yucky and stinky! Just like his big brother! He loves to give big, open mouth, slobbery kisses - they are the best! Gavin can get quite mad when things don't go his way! He can emit a super loud cry that sounds more like a bark and startles me so much that I just laugh! In fact, Gavin is in serious need of discipline, already! His favorite things to do are push the buttons on the tv receiver, and throw his food off the tray. It's so hard to do any type of serious discipline because he's so little. I just can't help but laugh when he purposely tests that waters! He loves the 'head shake' back and forth for "NO", he and Blane do this back and forth to eachother across the dinner table. He is still nursing at least 3 times a day! He weighed in at 19.4 lbs at his 10 month sick visit, and we are easily fitting into 12 months clothes these days. We've had some sleeping issues this month after a week's worth of being sick, but he is finally back to sleeping 12 hours at night. Daytime naps are hit or miss. Some days he's interested in two naps, other days just one. Gavin did get his second tooth this month so he still has a fairly gummy smile! This boy loves his pureed baby food and has not been fond of finger food at all unless it's Cheerios, cheese, waffle, or Gerber Puffs. I do usually fill his stroller cup with snack and now every time he gets into his stroller seat he checks to see what's available. Luckily, this little guys seriousness is fading away, and in it's place is a fun loving, happy little boy. He's definitely a mommas boy, but adores Daddy, and is crazy about brother. It has been so much fun to see them love on eachother and play together even more this month! I am so totally crazy about Gavin! God knew exactly what he was doing when he entrusted him into our care. I have to remind myself daily that these are not my kids, but His. All I need is Jesus, and these little guys are icing on my cake ; )
