Easter Advent Day 4

Today we talked through judas' betrayal of Jesus for thirty pieces of silver from Matthew 26. To remind us of today's reading, we fixed three silver coins to our advent cross calendar. Then, to bring the events to life we played a hide and seek game....Scott was the Pharisee who paid one of the boys (Judas) 30 pieces of silver, and that boy told Scott (Pharisee) where Jesus (other boy) was "hiding", praying. We all took turns playing each character. I think the boys were able to grasp, in a small way, the exchange that took place, (money for information), and Judas' selfish heart. We also discussed Gods sovereignty over Judas and his bad choices- that an all knowing Jesus knew all along of Judas' plan....

Scott and the boys enjoyed playing with the Easter garden and figurines :)
