One of the things I have been truly blessed with is family. Not only my own, but Scott's as well. What's really fun is that many holidays we've celebrated together as one big family. It's fun for us, of course, but it's especially great for the boys to have both sets of grandparents with them to celebrate special days. So Christmastime this year was SO memorable in Colorado with my parents and brother, and Scott's parents and his sister! Scott and I decided early on that it would be easier to make the 14 hour drive overnight so that the boys could sleep in the car - it actually turned out great for them, but poor Scott literally drove straight through, by himself! We left Keller at 4, made a dinner stop in Wichita Falls for an hour, then arrived in Buena Vista at 6:45 am. Whew, that's a long way! Ashley wasn't too fond of my sleeping positions in the car, so she and I got very little sleep too. But, we made it just in time for warm, sunny, 45 degree weather, but with lots of snow still on the ground. It was perfection! We played games, fed the deer, went sledding and skiing, played at the skatepark, played ping pong, cooked yummy desserts, celebrated Jesus' birthday, went hiking, opened gifts, etc. When all the fun was over, the boys and I flew back and Scott drove all of our goodies back to Texas. One of the other ideas we implemented this year was a $10 gift limit. This turned out to be great creative fun!
