Blane and Gavin - Nov./Dec. Updates

The boys have really blossomed into great friends and playmates. Blane truly loves his little brother, and Gavin looks up to Blane and imitates him in everything. It's not uncommon for them to hide away upstairs or outside and play by themselves for an hour or more - only breaking to show me their "creations"! But we do have hard days too. Sharing can still be really hard. Blane and Gavin have lots in common - they are quick and daring on their scooters, the love dirt, digging and mud, they are adventurous on their swingset, they love Word World and Wonder Pets. But the boys are very different too. Blane is very musical and he also loves to sit at the table and craft, draw, write his name, glue, glitter, and tape things together. He likes sports but adores golf. Blane is a typical first born - wants to please everyone and generally keeps the peace. He adores and dotes on his little sister and is a huge helper in every way. He wants to hear that we are pleased with him (definitely a people pleaser by nature). I think his love language is words of affirmation! Unfortunately, my sweet first boy is not too cuddly and I often catch him wiping my kisses off! Gavin on the other hand is super cuddly. He's huggy, kissy, and always willing to hold hands. But while Blane won't leave our sight, Gavin is eager to pave his own way regardless of if mommy and daddy are within sight. Gavin is the first to take off running and not slow down even when called. He's quite hard to keep up with on the scooter too : ) Gavin doesn't hesitate to run through sprinklers whereas Blane would never think of such a thing. Gavin enjoys doing the things that Blane likes, but would much prefer to play with his cars, trucks and trains, oh and motorcycles too. Gavin grazes throughout the day - always hungry but never eats too much; but Blane eats a lot, at every meal. Both the boys love their school and they have the most precious teachers. They can both identify letters - Gavin can recognize 4 letters and Blane can recognize the entire alphabet. Gavin is able to wear all of Blane's old clothes which has saved us lots of $$! But Blane is growing like a weed...out of the toddler boys section and into the big boys department store sections! These two little boys are a joy and a delight!
